Mungyeongsaejae Provincial Park

Historic mountain-pass park with three old gates, forest paths, and a Joseon drama set.

Mungyeongsaejae was one of the great old passes between the Yeongnam region and the capital. Today the route through the park links three historic gates with a broad forest path, making it easier on the knees than the harder Woraksan hikes.

The park also has a large open-air set used for Korean historical dramas. That can feel a little artificial, but it sits in a landscape with genuine road history, and the combination works well for a half-day from Suanbo.
