Narigama Beach is the longer, surfier stretch south of central Hikkaduwa. It has a looser feel than the reef-side beach, with guesthouses, cafes, and surf breaks spread along the sand.
It is a good base if you want Hikkaduwa's convenience without sleeping in the noisiest part of town. Swimming conditions vary, so watch the surf and ask before assuming the sea is gentle.
