The Community Tsunami Education Center and Tsunami Museum is a small, direct museum near Telwatta. Its displays are simple and sometimes raw, but they communicate the human scale of the 2004 disaster better than a quick roadside photograph can.
Visit with patience rather than expecting polished curation. The value is in local testimony, photographs, and the reminder that the beach landscape around Hikkaduwa was violently remade.
