Weligama is on the coastal railway between Colombo, Galle, and Matara. Trains are slower than the expressway buses but far more pleasant when the line hugs the sea. Buses also stop in town on the main south-coast road, and tuk-tuks connect Weligama with Mirissa, Midigama, and Ahangama.
