The Walami Trail leads into the eastern side of Yushan National Park from the Nan'an area outside Yuli. It follows part of the old Batongguan route, passing forest, suspension bridges, river scenery, and traces of the Japanese colonial mountain road.
Casual walkers usually do the lower section as a day hike, often adding Nan'an Waterfall on the way in or out. Check the current park rules before going farther up the trail; access can change after storm damage.
