The two matched limestone peaks of Khao Kanab Nam — rising abruptly from the estuary at the entrance to Krabi Town — are effectively the symbol of the province. They are reached by a 15-minute long-tail boat ride from Chao Fa Pier; a wooden staircase leads up to caves riddled with stalactites and stalagmites. Human skeletal remains were found in one of the caves and are thought to be from a group cut off and drowned by a flood in prehistoric times.
