Phuket City is about 30 kilometres from Phuket International Airport, at the north end of the island. Taxis and ride-share apps (Grab) connect the airport to the city; the journey takes 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. There are no trains to Phuket.
From the beach resort areas on the west coast, Phuket City is reachable by songthaew (shared pickup truck taxis) that run fixed routes from Patong and other resorts to the city's main market area. Journey time from Patong is 30–40 minutes. Tuk-tuks are an option but charge tourist rates; always agree on the fare before boarding.
