One Chun (the name means "Monday" in Thai) is the best-known restaurant in Phuket's old town and one of the places credited with bringing Baba cuisine — the food of the Peranakan Chinese community — to wider attention. The menu focuses on dishes that evolved in Phuket's Chinese community: coconut crab curry (one of the restaurant's signatures), Mee Hokkien noodles, kua kling (dry southern curry), and stir-fried dishes that combine Thai aromatics with Chinese technique.
The setting is a restored shophouse on Thepkasatri Road with a worn-tile floor and ceiling fans — unpretentious and genuinely local-feeling despite the fame. The crab dishes are expensive by Thai standards but worth it; the noodle dishes are a bargain. It opens for lunch and dinner and is busy most evenings; coming slightly before the peak hour is wise.
