Ko Adang sits directly across the narrow channel from Ko Lipe's Sunrise Beach, an obvious dark green wall of mountain rising from the sea. It is part of the strict national-park zone — no resorts, no bars, only basic park bungalows and a campsite at the headquarters on the south side. A few longtails make the short crossing from Lipe throughout the day and charge a small park entry fee on arrival.
The main thing to do is walk. A steep trail leads from the headquarters up to Chado Cliff, a viewpoint at about 280 metres that gives one of the best views in the archipelago — Ko Lipe and the surrounding turquoise shallows spread out beneath you. The climb takes about 45 minutes and is slippery after rain; wear shoes with grip. A separate trail leads to Pirate Waterfall (Rattana), a small jungle cascade that flows reliably only in the wet season.
The beach at the headquarters is fine for a swim and good for an overnight escape from the bustle of Lipe. Bring everything you need from Lipe — there are no shops.
