Suan Mokkh, the Garden of Liberation, was founded in 1932 by the Buddhist teacher Buddhadasa Bhikkhu. The forest monastery is one of Chaiya's most important religious sites and is known for its quiet grounds, meditation tradition, and simple approach to Theravada Buddhist teaching.
