Wat Lok Moli stands just north of Chiang Mai's old city, close enough to the moat to visit on foot but removed from the busiest temple circuit. Its great weathered brick chedi is the draw: broad, dark, and spare, with none of the over-restored shine that can flatten older temples.
The compound is still active, so it works best as a slow stop rather than a checklist sight. Come in the softer light of morning or late afternoon, when the carved wooden viharn and the chedi's rough brickwork feel most alive.
