Wat Si Khom Kham, also called Wat Phrachao Ton Luang, is Phayao's most important temple. Its main Buddha image is a large Chiang Saen-style seated figure, cast between 1491 and 1524, and still treated as a provincial emblem.
The temple stands by Kwan Phayao, close enough to combine with a lakeside walk. Look beyond the main hall too: the compound has smaller Buddha images, lake-facing structures, and the everyday rhythm of a working northern Thai temple.
