Wat Tilok Aram is a small temple site in the middle of Kwan Phayao. The original temple was built in the Lanna period under King Tilokkarat, then later ended up isolated by water when the modern lake took shape.
The visit is simple: hire a boat from the lakefront, cross the water, and spend a little time at the shrine and ruins. It is most rewarding in the late afternoon, when the boat ride and the lake view are half the point.
