The main beach at Bang Saphan is more workaday than Ban Krut to the north — fishing boats share the shore with a modest, low-key tourist scene. It's the launch point for day trips out to Koh Talu, easily arranged through any of the local resorts.
There's little in the way of organised beach activity here; the appeal is simply long, empty sand and a slower pace than anywhere else on the Gulf coast.
