Kui Buri Morning Market

The small daily morning market near the railway station is the best place to eat breakfast in Kui Buri and to understand what the local economy actually runs on. Stalls sell fresh produce from the surrounding pineapple and sugarcane farms, grilled meats, noodle soups, and the kind of prepared food that Thai commuters eat before the working day starts. The railway station gives the market its foot traffic — trains stop here on the Southern Line between Bangkok and the south.

The market winds down by about 10am. Pineapple from the surrounding farms is exceptionally sweet and cheap — Prachuap Khiri Khan province is Thailand's largest pineapple-producing province. The vendors are accustomed to foreign visitors, though English is limited; pointing and smiling covers most transactions.
