Çanlı Kilise means "bell church", though the bell is long gone. The main ruin is a 10th- or 11th-century Byzantine church in the hills south of Aksaray, surrounded by the remains of an old settlement cut into the soft rock.
It feels closer to Cappadocia than to modern Aksaray, with cave dwellings, worn stone, and a bare volcanic landscape. The site is quiet, exposed, and best visited with your own transport.
