Burdur's Grand Mosque stands beside the town clocktower, forming the old market centre of the city. The mosque is a 20th-century reconstruction after the destructive 1914 earthquake, but it keeps the place of an older religious and commercial focus.
This is not a grand Ottoman ensemble. It is a useful anchor for a short walk through the centre, close to small shops, the bazaar streets, and the archaeology museum.
