İnsuyu Cave

Karst show cave south of Burdur, once known for underground lakes.

İnsuyu Cave lies south of Burdur on the Antalya road, where the limestone has been carved into a long show cave. Its name means "water cave", and older accounts describe underground lakes, though water levels have fallen sharply.

Even with less water than before, the cave makes a worthwhile short excursion if you are travelling by car between Antalya and the Lakes District. It is cool, easy to visit, and gives Burdur a natural sight that balances the archaeology in town.
