The Great Mosque, also called Sultan Süleyman Mosque, is the main Ottoman monument in Çankırı's old centre. It was built in the 16th century and still works as a neighbourhood mosque, so visit respectfully and outside prayer times.
The mosque is best seen together with the nearby madrasas and lanes below the castle. Together they give the centre its old Anatolian shape.
