The Carian Trail gives Datça a wilder side than the harbour cafes suggest. Its peninsula sections run through dry hills, pine woods, old tracks, and coves, with the western route eventually reaching Knidos.
This is not a casual promenade. Water sources are limited, shade can be scarce, and summer heat is serious. In the right season, though, the walking is a fine way to feel the peninsula as a landscape rather than a string of beaches.
