The Great Mosque and Hospital of Divriği is one of the finest medieval buildings in Anatolia. Built in the 13th century under the Mengüjekids, it combines a hypostyle mosque, a two-storey hospital, and a tomb in a single stone complex below the castle.
The portals are the marvel: dense, asymmetrical carving that changes with the light and feels more like living growth than standard Seljuk ornament. Restoration has sometimes affected access, so check locally before making a tight plan, but this is the reason Divriği belongs on a Turkey itinerary.
