Foça Castle

Foça Castle, also known for its Beş Kapılar or "Five Gates", wraps around the old harbour headland. The surviving walls were rebuilt and repaired through Byzantine, Genoese, and Ottoman periods, and the shore road beside them gives the clearest sense of Foça's old defensive shape. The interior is not always open, but the ramparts and harbour views are reason enough to walk the loop.
