Kastamonu's clock tower is a solid late Ottoman landmark on the slope above the old centre. It dates from 1885 and is worth folding into a walk between the castle, Republic Square, and the river.
The tower itself is simple. The better reason to come up here is the angle back over Kastamonu's roofs and valley.
