Glass-bottomed boat tours from Kaş and Üçağız glide over the submerged ruins, which are close enough to the surface to be clearly visible. Swimming and diving directly over the site are prohibited. The best light for viewing the ruins is morning. Boats typically make a circuit of the island taking two to three hours, stopping at Simena castle and Üçağız village.
Sunken City of Kekova
A story
The sunken city at Kekova is the result of a series of earthquakes in the 2nd century CE that submerged the coastal settlements of the Lycian city of Dolişche. The ruins — staircases, building walls, storage jars, and cisterns — are visible just below the surface in clear water, creating one of the most evocative underwater archaeological landscapes in the Mediterranean.
