Kıyıkent Fortress

Broken Byzantine wall circuit and rebuilt gate around Kıyıköy's old bluff-top village.

Kıyıkent Fortress once enclosed the old village on its bluff between two streams. The walls are fragmentary now, and the Vize Gate has been rebuilt, but the setting still explains why the place was defended from the Byzantine period onward.

Treat it as a short walk through the village rather than a grand castle visit. The reward is the way the walls, moat traces, lanes, and sea air fit together.
