Hatuniye Mosque

Red-sandstone Ottoman mosque from around 1500, a short walk east of the old bazaar streets.

Hatuniye Mosque is smaller than the Sultan Mosque but easier to like at street level. Its red sandstone gives it a warmer colour than most of Manisa's restored Ottoman buildings, and the garden provides a quiet pause from the traffic around Atatürk Boulevard.

It is a good stop while walking between the old centre, the market streets, and the hill road towards the Weeping Rock.
