Varagel Tunnel is a small industrial relic rather than a polished attraction. Built for coal transport, it now works as a pedestrian tunnel and gives a brief, physical sense of the infrastructure that once tied the hills, mines, and harbour together.
It is worth adding to a walk if you are already exploring the northern side of town. Do not cross the city for it alone.
