Ajman's corniche runs along the Gulf side of the city for several kilometres, lined with palm trees, jogging paths and a wide white-sand beach that is free, public and well-maintained — a real rarity by UAE standards. The shallows are calm enough for swimming, and the late afternoon brings families, expat workers and joggers out in numbers.
The southern end is more developed, with cafes, kiosks and shisha terraces; head north toward Al Zorah for quieter sand. Sunset on Friday is when the corniche is at its busiest — and at its best, with kite-flyers, picnicking families and the lights of the Sharjah skyline coming on across the bay.
