Kampyr Tepe is one of the major archaeological sites around Termez, with remains linked to the Hellenistic, Greco-Bactrian, and Kushan worlds along the Amu Darya frontier. Its ruined walls and excavated structures help explain why this corner of Uzbekistan matters far beyond modern borders.
The site is exposed and interpretation may be limited, so it rewards preparation. Combine it with Termez's Buddhist and Islamic sites for a fuller picture of the region's layered Silk Road history.
