Cu Chi Town Food

Cu Chi town, the district administrative centre, has the kind of eating that makes Vietnam worthwhile. Along the main streets you will find pho shops opening at dawn and running to mid-morning, banh mi carts with proper baguettes and pate, and com binh dan restaurants serving rice plates with a choice of grilled meats, braised vegetables, and soups. Everything is cheap — a full meal costs well under 100,000 VND — and almost nothing is aimed at tourists.

If you are spending a full day in the Cu Chi area rather than catching the first tour bus back to Ho Chi Minh City, eat lunch here. It is a ten-minute drive from Ben Dinh and worth the detour.
