Pha Luong Peak

Pha Luong Peak is the serious outdoor excursion from Moc Chau, a mountain viewpoint south of town near the Laos border. The hike is not technically difficult in good weather, but it is still a mountain walk, with mud, exposure, and rapid changes in cloud.

Go with a local guide or reliable transport, and do not underestimate the distance from town. The reward is a broad, windy summit view that feels much wilder than the tea-field viewpoints closer to Moc Chau.

A story
Pha Luong sits close to the Laos border, and the final views make that geography obvious: ridges folding away on both sides, clouds moving fast, and a sense that Moc Chau is only the first step into the northwest mountains.
