Bedervale

Colonial homestead designed by John Verge on the edge of Braidwood.

Bedervale is a fine colonial homestead just outside Braidwood, designed by architect John Verge in the 1830s. Its restrained Georgian lines and rural setting show a more prosperous side of the district than the shopfronts in town.

Visits depend on opening arrangements, so check ahead. If it is open, Bedervale is one of the best reasons to treat Braidwood as a heritage stop rather than a quick break on the road.
