Braidwood's main street is the town's main sight. Wallace Street and the lanes around it preserve a rare concentration of colonial-era commercial buildings, cottages, churches, and old inns, giving the place a coherent look rather than a few isolated relics.
It is best seen slowly, on foot, with time to notice verandahs, stonework, painted signs, and the way the town sits low under big inland skies. This is not a museum piece, either; it is still the everyday centre of town.
