Braidwood Museum gives the town's handsome old streets some context. Its collection covers the gold-rush years, bushranger stories, local families, farming, trades, and the long relationship between Braidwood and the surrounding district.
It is the right first stop if you want the place to be more than a pretty streetscape. The museum is small enough not to swallow the day, but detailed enough to reward an hour.
