Australia's World Peace Bell stands in Cowra's Civic Square, close to the gallery and library. It was made from coins donated by United Nations member countries and awarded to Cowra in recognition of the town's long work around peace and reconciliation.
The bell is accessible at all times, with interpretive material beside it. It is a small stop, but it lands better after you have seen the POW camp and Japanese Garden, when the town's choice of memory has some weight.
