The Japanese War Cemetery at Cowra is the only Japanese war cemetery in Australia. It holds the graves of prisoners of war who died in the Cowra Breakout, along with other Japanese POWs and soldiers who died in Australia during the Second World War.
Beside it, the Australian War Cemetery includes the graves of the four Australian soldiers killed during the breakout and others who died while training in the area. The cemeteries are quiet but important stops, especially when paired with the POW camp site and the Cowra Japanese Garden.
