Dundullimal Homestead is Dubbo's oldest surviving building, a timber slab house from around 1840 preserved by the National Trust. It is a quieter sight than the gaol, but it rounds out the city well by showing the pastoral world that grew around the Macquarie River.
The pleasure is in the details: verandas, outbuildings, slab construction, and the sense of a remote station gradually being swallowed by a modern regional city.
