Bombo Headland is an old blue-metal quarry turned coastal oddity, with columns and blocky basalt walls that look almost built rather than cut from rock. It is one of the most memorable short detours near Kiama, especially in early or late light.
The ground is uneven and exposed, so wear proper shoes and keep back from wet rock and cliff edges. From the headland you can look south toward Kiama and north toward Cathedral Rocks, which makes it a strong stop on the northern section of the coast walk.
