Green's Gunyah Museum

Local museum with Brookong Station history, farm artefacts, and Doris Golder wool art.

Green's Gunyah Museum is the best place to understand why Lockhart bothers to tell its story. The collection covers pastoral life, farm machinery, local photography, and Brookong Station, where the 1888 shearers' strike gives the town a link to a much wider labour history.

The surprise is the Doris Golder Wool Art Gallery. Golder made portraits and rural scenes from coloured wool, a very local medium that could have been a novelty but has enough craft to hold your attention.
