☰Mount Gower

Mount Gower rises 875 metres at the southern end of the island and is the great Lord Howe day hike. The route is normally done with a licensed guide and takes about eight hours return, climbing through banyan, palm forest, exposed traverses, and cloud forest near the summit. The reward is not just the view, but the sense of walking through a tiny island ecosystem that changes with every few hundred metres of height.
