Warrabah National Park

Warrabah National Park protects a rough, quiet stretch of the Namoi River northeast of Manilla. It is one of the area's best outdoor escapes, with bushwalking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, birdwatching, and camping around a river corridor that feels much wilder than the road in suggests.

Do not treat it as a roadside picnic stop. Access roads are rural, mobile coverage can be thin, and the heat can be hard in summer. Bring water, check conditions, and give the park enough time to be more than a pin on the map.

A story
The Namoi River cuts through the park in a gorge that drops around 245 metres, a sharp change from the softer farming country around Manilla. That contrast is the point: in less than an hour you move from town streets to granite, river pools, and bird country.
