Mudgee Arts Precinct gives the town a useful cultural centre as well as a practical starting point. It combines the visitor information centre with a purpose-built gallery in the historic Cudgegong Chambers, showing local and national exhibitions.
Use it at the start of a visit: pick up current maps and event information, then give the gallery time rather than treating it as decoration for the tourist office.
