Meroogal

Preserved 1880s timber house tied to four generations of one Nowra family.

Meroogal is a weatherboard house museum built in the 1880s and kept with an unusual amount of family detail. Its rooms, verandahs, and household objects tell a quieter story than grand colonial mansions: women managing a town household over several generations.

It is a small visit, but a good one, especially if you want Nowra to feel like more than a traffic stop.
