Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse

Hilltop 1875 lighthouse with wide views over Seal Rocks, beaches, and offshore reefs.

Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse is the landmark that gives Seal Rocks its shape as a visit. The white tower stands above reefs that were once feared by shipping, and the walk up from the village is short but steep enough to feel like an arrival.

From the headland you can see back over Boat Beach, south along Lighthouse Beach, and out toward the rocks that made this coast dangerous. It is also one of the better places here to watch for migrating whales between early winter and late winter.
