Treachery Beach is the wilder beach south of the village. Surfers come for the northern end when conditions are right, and walkers come for a longer, less settled stretch of sand.
The name is not just theatre. In rough weather the surf and rips can be serious, so it is better treated as a walking and watching beach unless conditions are clearly safe.
