Kosciuszko Walk

The Kosciuszko Walk is the big reason non-skiers come to Thredbo. From the top of the Kosciuszko Express chairlift, the trail crosses open alpine country to Rawson Pass and then climbs gently to Mount Kosciuszko, the highest point in Australia at 2,228 metres.

It is a proper day walk, but not a technical one. The reward is the sweep of the Snowy Mountains and Victorian High Country from the summit, plus the odd pleasure of seeing mainland Australia above the tree line. Weather changes quickly here, even in summer, so carry layers and check park alerts before setting out.
