Yass Railway Museum tells the odd local story of the Yass Tramway, built because the main southern railway passed outside town. The old station precinct, goods shed, loading bank, and locomotive displays make the politics of the bypass visible.
It is a small volunteer-style museum, but it gives useful context to a town that spent much of its life arguing with roads and rails.
