Young Historical Museum

Local museum in an 1883 school building, with goldfield artefacts and the Lambing Flat riot banner.

Young Historical Museum occupies the former Young Public School, built in 1883. Its collection covers the Burrangong goldfields, early farming, local families, bushrangers, and the town's shift from gold to orchards.

The key object is the 1861 "Roll Up No Chinese" banner carried during the Lambing Flat anti-Chinese riots. It is a hard thing to see, but it gives Young a sharper historical edge than many country-town museums.
