Abel Point (formally Coral Sea Marina) is the main yacht harbour at the western end of town, about a kilometre from the Lagoon along the foreshore boardwalk. It is the departure and return point for most of the Whitsunday sailing tours, dive boats, and the bareboat charter fleet that gives the region its sailing reputation.
There are several waterfront restaurants and bars at the marina's edge, and the boardwalk continues around to the broadwalk overlooking the moored yachts. Even if you are not boarding a boat, it is a pleasant walk at sunset, with the islands silhouetted across Pioneer Bay.
