The Beaudesert Historical Museum occupies a cluster of old timber buildings and outbuildings — including a relocated 1880s slab cottage and a corrugated-iron school — on Brisbane Street near the centre of town. The exhibits work outward from local Yugambeh Aboriginal history, through the cedar-getting and saw-milling years that opened up the Scenic Rim in the late nineteenth century, to the dairy and beef cattle industries that still shape the valley.
It is run by volunteers and only open a few afternoons a week, so check before driving up. The grounds are pleasant for a wander even when the museum is closed.
